Terms of Service
Last updated 9 October 2026 · [email protected]
About these terms
These terms cover SOTA – AI Community’s websites: sota-ai.org, the IOAI Guide, the AI Checklist and the accounts you can create on them. By using the sites, you agree to them. SOTA is a student-led community run by volunteers. Everything on the sites is free.
How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Using the sites
You’re welcome to use the sites to learn, practise and prepare for olympiads, on your own or with others. Please don’t:
- try to break, overload or get around the security of the sites or the login service,
- access other people’s accounts or data, or pretend to be someone else,
- use automated tools to copy the sites in bulk or to send large numbers of requests,
- use the sites for anything unlawful or to harm others.
Accounts
An account is optional: it saves your progress so it follows you across our sites and devices. You create one by logging in with Discord, Google or GitHub, and you need to meet that service’s own age and account rules. Your account is for you alone; keep access to the service you log in with secure.
You can stop using your account and ask us to delete it at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms.
Our content
- The IOAI Guide is written by SOTA members, and each module names its authors.
- The AI Checklist lists tasks from past AI olympiads. The tasks belong to the olympiads that set them, and we link to the originals. Where we have translated a task into English, the translation is SOTA’s; organisers can ask us to remove it, and we will.
- Editorials name the people who wrote them.
Use our content freely for your own learning, and link to it as much as you like. Please ask us before republishing large parts of it elsewhere.
SOTA is an independent community. We aren’t affiliated with, or endorsed by, the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence or any of the olympiads whose tasks we list.
Comments and contributions
Comments under modules and tasks are posted through GitHub, so GitHub’s Terms of Service apply to them as well. Be kind and stay on topic. We may hide or delete comments that are abusive, off topic or spam.
If you contribute a module, translation or editorial, you confirm it’s your own work or that you have the right to share it, and you agree to SOTA publishing it on our sites with credit to you.
Our Discord server
The SOTA Discord server has its own rules, posted there, and Discord’s Terms of Service apply to it.
No guarantees
We work hard to make the guide, checklist and editorials accurate, but they may contain mistakes and they are provided “as is”, without any warranty. Contest rules, dates and formats are set by each olympiad; always check the official sources.
The sites are run by volunteers. We may change, pause or stop any part of them, and while we will try to give notice on Discord before removing something people rely on, we can’t promise the sites will always be available.
To the extent the law allows, SOTA and its volunteers are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using, or being unable to use, the sites or their content.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top of this page, and we’ll announce important changes on our Discord server. Using the sites after a change means you accept the new terms.
